Tens of Thousands Head to Washington and Demand Climate Action

Yesterday, February 17th, an estimated 35,000 people headed to Washington, DC, to demand that President Obama take action against climate climate change and block the Keystone XL pipeline.  According to Bill McKibben, one of the organizers of the event, it was the biggest climate rally in US history.  Very cool!

Unfortunately, I couldn’t make it down, so I’ll let others give you more information about the event:

    My guess is that we’d have needed ten times the turnout to have any chance of making an impact where it matters. Oh, well, I suppose it’s back to admitting we’re screwed. Royally.
