Amory Lovins: A 50-year Plan For Energy
Looking back at what I have written in the past few weeks, I realize that it has mostly been rather negative in nature. And so, in order to make sure that I don’t get myself (and any of you fine readers) all depressed, I’ve got a few posts lined up with some great ideas and motivating news.
First up is (another) TED Talk. This time it is by Amory Lovins who would like to share with you how the US can get itself off of oil and coal (while saving a boat-load of money) through the use of renewable energy as well as through better designs and greater efficiency in transportation and electricity production. And just because Mr. Lovins is using the US to illustrate his point doesn’t mean that his ideas could not be applied anywhere in the world.
Warning: it is a little longer than the usual TED Talk (about 27 minutes) and Mr. Lovins does gets a little technical at times (which some of you may actually love). But, in the end, I found the video quite inspiring. I hope you will too.
