The End Of Economic Growth?

How often do you hear the expression “economic growth” while listening to the radio or watching TV (or surfing the web)?  I hear it a lot.  But I’m also hearing that constant growth is impossible because we live on a finite planet.  For example, how can the Canadian economy continually grow when it is dependent on oil, a finite resource, to function?

The following video, by the Post Carbon Institute ask the question “Who Killed Economic Growth”?  The video is aimed at Americans, but you can adapt the theme to any industrialized country.  Take a look.
